Tradition & innovation meet
Following the successful virtual DCK 2021, the congress has alternated between Leipzig and Munich every year since 2022. With a fresh concept, the 2022 conference took place for three days in hybrid form for the first time. The pre-congress with digital ePoster exhibition starts one week before the face-to-face congress.
On the days of the event, around 1,500 participants followed the 5-6 streams each day. On site, around 3,500 people attended over 90 sessions, the traditional industry exhibition, the training lab, workshops and, for the first time, the Young Surgeons Area and the Future Corner.
Innovative congress concept ...
“In 2021, due to the COVID pandemic, we were forced to cancel the DCK, which usually attracts around 5,000 participants as an in-person event. However, in order to hold the congress anyway and thus continue to uphold the DGCH’s educational mission, we worked with the agency wikonect to develop a new, hybrid and innovative congress concept in a short preparation time.”
